What equipment do we need?

We seek to equip computer training centres in the 3rd world with the hardware to create a network of PC computers, so we are particularly interested in (but not restricted to):

  • Personal Computers
  • Monitors
  • Networking Equipment (hubs/switches etc)
  • Laptops
  • Printers
  • Windows XP licences

Our minimum specification for our training centre computers is:

  • Pentium 3 processor
  • 256 Mb memory
  • 10Gb hard disk

We LOVE flat-screen monitors and laptop computers because they are power-efficient and ideal for our training centres that operate in places where the electrcity supply is restricted.

What about transport costs?

We will collect the equipment from you and test it before sending it on to a training centre in Africa or Asia. These costs restrict how quickly we can collect and supply the computers. If you have a budget for the disposal of the computers, we would really appreciate a donation to help cover these costs.

What about my private data?

We professionally erase all hard-disks to US Ministry of Defence standards. But if you like, you can retain your hard-disks and we will fit a replacement.

Do you want faulty equipment?

Maybe - please contact us to discuss any faulty equipment that you have.
