Meeting the Need

Globally, there are many people from poor and underprivileged backgrounds who are struggling to provide for their needs and the needs of their families. There is also a shortage, particularly in developing countries, of people with good computer skills. Oasis realises that by providing high quality computer training for people in these contexts, their lives can be transformed very quickly.

Net2Work is effective. We have seen 75% of students find employment or further education opportunities as a result of Net2Work training.

 

Building on Excellence

Net2Work uses high quality teaching materials and offers accreditation from the Cambridge Institute of Technology. The courses are trainer-led and each student has access to a computer for learning each step through practical examples. Net2Work is supported by a wealth of global resources and the programme is designed so that Net2Work is easily replicated to deliver training in areas where it is needed most.

Working in Partnership

Net2Work is just one of the ways that Oasis is working around the world to reach poor and vulnerable people, but we recognise that the true potential of the programme will only be realised by creating partnerships with other organisations that share our vision. We often find that like-minded NGOs and community-based organisations are already working in areas that we want to reach, and partnerships are easily brokered.

The eAcademy Model

Oasis is seeking to establish more Net2Work training centres, known as eAcademies, which run as pre-funded projects for fixed-term of 3 years. This enables the eAcademy to offer training services without being a financial burden to the community that we are seeking to help.
